The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) at IUPUI

You’ve made amazing changes in your life, and you’re on the road to recovery. Maybe what you’re looking for now is a group of peers who understand what it’s like to travel that road while in college. The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) at IUPUI is your chance to connect with fellow Jags and be supported while you maintain your recovery.

The overall goal of the CRC is a simple one: provide social support and a referral network with access to community resources, regardless of whether you are recovering from substance abuse, behavioral addictions such as gambling or sex, or something else altogether.

Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE)

The Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) is the only association exclusively representing collegiate recovery programs (CRPs) and collegiate recovery communities (CRCs), the faculty and staff who support them, and the students who represent them. ARHE provides the education, resources, and community connection needed to help change the trajectory of recovering student’s lives. We are a network of professionals, administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents and policy makers.

Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Adult Education Program

Indiana Adult Education programs provide math, reading, and writing instruction free of charge to help you acquire the skills needed to earn a high school equivalency diploma, go to college, or enter an entry-level occupational certification program.


INDIANA WORKFORCE RECOVERY

In February 2018, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Wellness Council of Indiana announced the Indiana Workforce Recovery initiative, a strategic partnership with Gov. Eric Holcomb and his administration to combat the opioid epidemic.

The mission of the initiative is to empower the business community to play a lead role by educating and guiding employers through the steps they can take to help their workers. Indiana Workforce Recovery is also focused on helping Hoosier businesses meet their workforce needs and effectively engage a drug-free workforce in recovery.

Indiana Workforce Ready Grant

The Workforce Ready Grant is designed to remove financial barriers that may prevent Hoosiers from getting the training they need for a job in one of Indiana’s 5 high-demand fields. The grant pays for all tuition and regularly assessed fees for qualifying high-value certificates.

Hoosier Initiative for Re-Entry (HIRE)

INDIANACAREERREADY can connect you to resources designed to assist job seekers with backgrounds to become gainfully employed. The HIRE Program is a cooperative effort between the Department of Workforce Development, Department of Corrections, Indiana employers and the public safety community to provide incarcerated and/or discharged Hoosiers with job readiness training and placement.

Indiana Legal Services, Inc. (ILS)

Indiana Legal Services, Inc. (ILS) is a nonprofit law firm that provides free civil legal assistance to eligible low-income residents throughout the state of Indiana.

Blue Jacket

Blue Jacket’s mission is to provide training and opportunities to anyone with a barrier who is striving to earn gainful employment. We envision that anyone with a barrier to employment will be restored with hope and provided capacity to obtain and retain employment because of Blue Jacket’s vast network and resources of support.

Second Chance Business Coalition

The second chance business coalition promotes the benefits of second chance employment and provides employers with resources to hire and provide career advancement to people with criminal records.
